Optimization works best when the source CV is already factually correct. Fix stale contact details, wrong dates, and incorrect qualifications before asking AI to polish the language. A more confident sentence cannot repair an inaccurate source.
Decide what you want improved. A broad review can identify weak sections, while a focused request can shorten a summary or strengthen one achievement. Keep a clear distinction between improving the presentation of evidence and inventing evidence that the draft lacks.
A quality score is an internal assessment of the draft under the app’s review criteria. It is not an ATS pass mark and does not predict whether an employer will shortlist you. The useful part is the accompanying feedback: what changed, what remains unclear, and which claims need support.
Prioritize corrections that affect understanding. A missing employment date or vague responsibility may matter more than replacing one action verb. If a suggestion does not fit your experience, edit it or leave the original in place.
A useful bullet identifies an action, its context, and a supported outcome where one is known. Numbers can add context, but a truthful qualitative result is better than an impressive invented percentage.
When AI supplies an example metric, replace it with a documented result or remove it. For shared projects, describe your contribution rather than attributing the whole team’s output to yourself. After applying changes, read adjacent bullets together to remove repetition.
